My initial curiosity around using the computer to create ‘art’ developed into a full-blown passion, eventually leading me to become a digital designer and founder of Bring Your Own Laptop.
Sharing and teaching are a huge part of who I am. As a certified Adobe instructor, I've had the honor of winning multiple Adobe teaching awards at their annual MAX conference. I see Bring Your Own Laptop as the supportive community I wished for when I was first starting out and intimidated by design. Through teaching, I hope to bring others along for the ride and empower my students to bring their stories, labors of love, and art into the world.
True to my Kiwi roots, I've lived in many places, and currently, I reside in Ireland with my wife and kids.

Hello. Hey, in this video I'm gonna show you how to export a p and g or a jpeg uh, from an Instagram post. I'm doing it this early in the course so that you can submit class projects as you go along. So I'm gonna show you how to do it. It's pretty easy. Uh, but you can also use this exact method to then download this image, email it to yourself, and then put it onto Instagram.
Pretty easy. Let's jump in. I'll show you how to do it. Alright, to download them, let's go up to, well, first of all, I like to grab the name that I've called the document and just copy it. So select that all, copied it. I'm gonna go to share and I'm gonna go to download.
And then I'm gonna say, what file type doesn't really matter. JPEG or p and g, they do put some restrictions on the free account on like how good a quality JP 80% is good. If you crank it up to a hundred, it says, Hey, it's a pro feature. It's not gonna matter for what we need, especially for the class projects and generally to go out to things like Instagram as well. It's gonna be perfect. Uh, we're gonna stick with p and g, just use that.
Now we've got two pages. I want just the first page, so I'm gonna actually turn them all off except for this first page here and I'm gonna say download. Okay, I've made a folder code exports. I'm gonna put it in there 'cause I'm good. Okay. And this is my V one.
The very next one I'm gonna, um, export is gonna be V two, V three, et cetera. Okay? That's why I copy and paste the name. It's click save and we have a p and g on our desktop. There it is. There's my Instagram file ready to upload as a class project.
We'll get more and more nerdy as we go along. Basically, you just need a JP or a PNG, and that's all you need to do, but we'll learn more tricks as we go along. All right? That is how to get a JP or a PNG out of Canva. Let's get onto the next video.
