What is HTML5

Founder of Bring Your Own Laptop & Chief Instructor
instructorI discovered the world of design as an art student when I stumbled upon a lab full of green & blue iMac G3’s. My initial curiosity around using the computer to create ‘art’ developed into a full-blown passion, eventually leading me to become a digital designer and founder of Bring Your Own Laptop.
Sharing and teaching are a huge part of who I am. As a certified Adobe instructor, I've had the honor of winning multiple Adobe teaching awards at their annual MAX conference. I see Bring Your Own Laptop as the supportive community I wished for when I was first starting out and intimidated by design. Through teaching, I hope to bring others along for the ride and empower my students to bring their stories, labors of love, and art into the world.
True to my Kiwi roots, I've lived in many places, and currently, I reside in Ireland with my wife and kids.
Okay so what is HTML5, now its just an umbrella term because when you're building stuff in HTML5 you built a banner ad you realise at the end there's a pile of other stuff. There's CSS, jQuery and Json there's lots of other stuff that goes along with it so HTML5 is just a quick way of saying all that new junk. You cant go around and say hey buddy have you checked out that HTML5, CSS3, jQuery Bootstrappy, create JS thing? People just say HTML5 and it just wraps up all of that even though there is a lot more to it. It also comes with a sexy new logo, hopefully my video editor Tayla can put this new lovely logo in the middle here, cool huh? So its just an umbrella term but it includes lots of different things, so don’t be surprised at the end of your project where you end up with your JavaScript. Some of them have CSS, there's lots of other things that go along with it. Alright, lets go to the next video.
