Hello, hey, welcome to the first class project, a nice simple one... I want you to get up to where we are in the project already... I want three frames, and I want you to be able to do this... oh, that was not working, good work, Dan... was bottom, and left and right. So I want it to respond, want the icons to move...
I want it to stick to the bottom, even though I've shown you what to do... so I want three different versions, make sure they work, Dan... if you haven't done a class with me before... we do class projects just to kind of keep you up to speed... and so you're not just watching, you're actually doing... of course, is up to you, you don't have to do them, I'm not the boss of you...
but the doing part is what really makes it stick, so if you are keen... the class projects is listed in the 'Exercise Files', 'Class Project 01'... I want you to create three different phone sizes... the lower Nav, I want it to be responsive to all those sizes... so we're going to be looking at these kind of main topics... Auto Layout, the auto spacing between the items, and those constraints...
that's the last thing that I messed up. Make sure your Nav is a component... and in this case, the deliverables... what I'd love you to do is to be able to take a screencast... what I want you to do is make a video of you doing this, frame, going like this... and it all responds, still not responding, Dan...
uh, no excuses... I want it to do this... so video the screencast doing that, that is it. Now recording your screen can be tricky for some people... other people will be okay with it... if you've not done it before, Macs have a built-in thing called Screen Capture...
PCs have something similar, I'm pretty sure. If you want to, there's a way kind of built into Figma... up here, go to your plugins and find one called Vimeo Record... you do have to log into a Vimeo account and set one up if you don't have one... it's free, it's really good... and it means that after a little bit of like...
confirm your email address and all that sort of stuff... "Would you like Vimeo to record your screen?," "Yes, please"... you can run it and you can actually just record your screen... I've turned my camera off, my mic off... because all I want to do is screen recording... and once you're done you can upload it to Vimeo, and then you get a link...
then grab that link, and that's what you can submit for your class project. Now if all of that is way too hard I will allow a screenshot... make sure you've got something selected so we can kind of see what you're doing... that the auto's there, and the constraints are right, that'll pass... but hopefully you'll be able to do the screen recording... all right, and that is it...
get up to where we are already, you might be, "Already done it," you're like... "Yeah," just do the screen recording... if you've just been watching, come on, now's the time, go back, do these things... see if you can do it, you're like, "Oh yeah, I understand that"... prove it, let's do it... but that's up to you, for now though let's get on to the next video...
actually, you go and do that, and then I'll see you in the next video... all right, see you in a sec.
