Alright, uh, to get started, first thing is  to download the exercise files. So there'll be a link on the page. Uh, download the files that we use through this course. In that folder though, that'll also be the shortcut sheet. Okay? It's a PDF, you can print it off.

Um, there'll be lots of shortcuts in this course. I'll go through them loads, but it'd be handy having  that next to you so you can circle the ones  that you really like and really wanna remember. Uh, yeah, so download the files and then what's next? That's what's next. How fast does Dan talk? Most people think I talk too fast and I probably do.

Uh, some people, uh,  people have said I talk too slow and they wanna speed me up. Guess what? You can, uh,  there's a cog down in the bottom corner there. You can send me to whatever speed you like. Okay, slow down, fast down, whatever you like. There you go.

Can you do it with the free version? You totally can. Pretty much all of this course you can do  with the free version of Figma. Um, we will look at some of the paid features  because it's an advanced course  and you wanna know what you might be missing out  if you're on the free account. But most of it's to do with like larger teams  and it's not so much features missing, it's more  to do with collaboration. But I'll take you through those ones  so that you get a sense for them.

Um, but yeah, you can go through most of this course  with the free version and the tiny bits that are paid. It's worth knowing even if you do have the free version  about, you know,  what can be done if you do end up in a position  where you are looking at the pay version. I'm not sure what this is. What else? Okay, lastly is level one and level two. If you look in the contents, you'll see that some  of the bigger topics, the chunkier parts of Figma,  where there's a lot to go through.

I've broken up into two parts. Level one, level two. Uh, why? Mainly  because I was going mad trying to put it together  because there's a lot to those. Um, things like auto layout's, one of them for instance. And there's a lot to it and it's really  important to learn in this course.

But doing it all at once, even preparing it,  I was just like, man, I need to go do something else. And that's what I've done. I've kind  of got the really good chunky best bits in level one  and then the more, not more obscure,  obscure is the wrong word, I need to break it so  that the more detailed we got,  we're gonna carry it on Later in the course. We're gonna take two. Goes at a couple of those big topics. Level one, level two.

Does that make sense? Because I was going mad  and I know that you'll get bored as well. Okay. 'cause they're just really long. We want to kind of, I don't know, mix it up a little bit. Do a bit of auto layout, learn loads of good advanced stuff,  take a break, do some other stuff, come back to auto layout  and really like, get super advanced.

Alright, that is it Getting started. Let's get started. Do something.

Note: If you have a different UI than in the course, you can change it back by clicking the '?' in the bottom right corner of Figma and select 'Go back to previous UI'. Happy Figma'ing!
