Hi everyone, this class project we're going to make a social media ad... so we're going to tie together a lot of the techniques... that we've learned in this section about images, and mainly cropping. So what I've done is I have put it on its own page... I have used the frame, under 'Social Media' you can use any of these... I don't mind what aspect ratio you use, or what platform...
and I want you to make something that is for our persona... it's not so much of a design challenge... don't worry if you're like, "Oh, I don't want to make something"... just kind of get it all in there... it's an ad to promote your app... some of you though, take your time, make something nice.
The trouble, and tricky thing is... I don't mind what's on here, or where it goes... and what you say, the language you use, the images that you use... it's really more of a technical challenge... and it's going to be, like creatively it's going to be quite tricky... to try and fit all of these into the ad somewhere...
so what I want is, I want the text marks and Alpha Mask... Luma Mask, Spillover Mask, and Layer Blending modes. The only one that might be tricky is a Spillover mask... not everyone knows how to mask really well, or use the Pen tool... do your best, you will not fail if you can't do it. Just a reminder as well while you're working...
there's a couple of shortcuts that we learned earlier on... so if you're on a Mac hold 'Command' key down while you're dragging the edges... remember, it cropped it... on a PC it's 'Ctrl'... and to jump into that cropping mode... remember, you can hold down 'Option' on a Mac, 'Alt' on a PC, double click it...
there you go, and it kind of jumps into this kind of cool cropping mode... just a reminder, you don't have to use them, but there you go. Deliverables, a screenshot, or you can export your ad... and upload it to the Assignments... now when you are exporting you can just do a screenshot like we've done before... or you can select on your frame, and over here, in your Properties Inspector....
if you haven't done exporting in the Essentials class... we haven't done it yet in this course... you can just select on the frame and say, 'Export as JPEG'... up to you which one you want to do, I don't mind... for this one though I'd love to see what you actually make. So share it on social media, use the #FigmaAdvanced...
I'd love to see what you make... don't forget, especially in the Assignment section if you see anybody else's... it would be great if you could drop some comments on... not just one but two people's work... there you go, make a social media app, try and squeeze all of that in there... do a better job than Dan, holy Molly...
all right, I will see you in the next video... enjoy the homework, actually, no homework... enjoy the class project, learning stuff.
