Hi everyone, wiring up all of these prototypes... can take ages, so this video is some tips and tricks of doing... bulk addition of these noodles... or wires, or terminals, whatever you want to call them, the blue lines... and also I'll show you how to bulk remove them all... just to tidy up a document, super handy.
So I just duplicated one of our frames... and kind of renamed them Home, Search, Account, Wishlist... and the first tip is, instead of going through each one and saying... when the navigation's clicked go back to here... and go to each individual one... gets tiring, what you can do is - undoing that - is just select them all...
and grab any one of them, and go, you, you see, they all go at the same time... you can get a little fancier, so I'm going to-- I'm going to leave that. Also, if you can't see the wires just make sure you're in Prototype mode... and the other one is, let's say we want to do it down in here... but we can't really easily click all these because they're inside of our instance... but I want to re-link all of these magnifying glasses...
so what we can do is, we can select it... I'm going to use my Quick Action shortcut, who remembers what that is? 'Command /', or 'Ctrl /' on a PC... and I just type in "Select", because I can never remember what the shortcut is... there's actually not a shortcut, is there, no... I want the one that says, 'Select all with same instance'.
You might be able to go with the same effect... or with the same fill, the same properties... in my case, because it's an instance, I want the same instances... can you see, it grabs all of them... 'Shift 1', it's grabbed even the ones down here... and now - I'm in Prototype mode.
- and say... they all go back to Home page, look at that... actually, I want it to go to the-- actually, undo... and I'm going to say, actually, go to the Search page... so that's how to do some bulk connections. One other little thing while I'm here, there's this one, 'Shift 2'...
is, can you see, you can actually drag them out of any side now... I used to only drag them out, off the right, but you can... doesn't really help much, but you might have noticed that already... anyway, you can drag out any side. Let's talk about bulk removing... so this one's not too bad, 'Shift 1'...
is there's a few wires going everywhere... in the Essentials class, remember, we did this... and it's, it's not even that messy either... I bet you you've probably worked on documents that has loads more. To get rid of them all, you might download somebody else's file... or just, like want to start again...
happens to me when I've got things from the community, and I want to use them... I just want to get rid of all the wires... all you need to do is, have nothing selected... just right click in the background... and there's this cool thing that says Remove All Interactions, job done, nice. You can do it just for individual frames as well...
say you just want this frame to be disconnected... all the things going from this... select it, right click anywhere, and just say... 'Remove Interactions', and it'll do it just for that one... all the rest of them are still there, thank you, and that's it. Let me know in the comments what you call them...
I think Figma refers to them as noodles, well, they used to... I call them wires because I kind of started UX in Adobe XD, they call it wires... I've heard people call them terminals, joiny bits... I made that up, anyway, let's go with noodles... because that's the coolest option... I'm going to change, no longer wires, these guys are noodles...
all right, let's get into some more prototyping in the next video.
